Nigerian music producer Osabuohien Osaretin better known as Sarzonthebeat or simply Sarz is no longer on eLDee’s Trybe Records which he joined in 2012. The deal which saw him produce exclusively for the Tyrbes Team purportedly ran for out this year and both parties decided not to renew. He is currently pursuing his production career independently and managed by NaijaReview MGT.
Also speaking on his recently concluded endorsement with international sportswear giants NIKE, he explained that they were looking for a ‘badguy’ in entertainment to represent their brand so as to connect with their consumers who are also interested in entertainment. There will be a #WeRunLagos 10Km marathon on the 16th of November to activate the campaign.
When asked if he felt any competition as the top spot for producers in the Nigerian music industry is becoming more competitive he said:
‘I don’t feel any competition anyway because personally I love challenges. If I hear a song that’s good, I believe I can do it better and if the song is better, sure, I can do it the best. Although, I have a couple of producers that I really admire. I like D’tunes, Maleek Berry, Don Jazzy and several others.’
Sarz further revealed that late Nigerian indigenous rapper Dagrin’s Kondo was his major hit single.
